什么是 “threaten to”?
“Threaten to” 是一个常见的英语动词短语,表示“威胁要做某事”或“有迹象表明某事即将发生(通常指不好的事情)”。
它既可以用于描述人的主观威胁行为,也可以用于描述客观情况的发展趋势。
基本结构
主语 + threaten to + 动词原形
- He threatened to quit his job.
- The sky threatened to rain all afternoon.
两种主要用法
1. 表示“某人威胁要做某事”
通常带有主观意图,说话者有意通过言语施加压力。
She threatened to call the police if he didn’t leave.
The employee threatened to sue the company for unfair treatment.
2. 表示“某事似乎即将发生(多指负面事件)”
常用于自然现象、局势发展等非人为因素,带有拟人化色彩。

- “Threaten to” 后面必须接动词原形(to do),不能接动名词(doing)。
